Emphasis is placed on healthy eating at Christ Church School, our in-house caterers make sure that children have a choice of either vegetarian or  meat dishes.  For more information and an example menu, please see our application pack.

A good meal should contain a balance of different kinds of food. to make sure you have a balanced lunch choose some of these foods following , but please none of the following:    Chocolate bars, fizzy drinks or any drinks in glass bottles.   

Try not to put crisps and biscuits into the lunch, think of a healthy alternative.
       

Some Recommended Healthy Choices!

All kinds of wholemeal bread, rolls, chapattis, crispbreads, pitta bread, wholemeal and bran biscuits, cooked brown rice and wholemeal pasta.

At least one piece of fruit such as apples, pears, oranges, bananas, grapes, peaches, or dried fruit. Of at lease two servings of vegetables, carrots, celery, cucumber, lettuce, cabbage, peppers, tomatoes and radishes.

Cooked lean meat such as ham, turkey, tinned fish, smoked fish, hard boiled eggs, peanut butter, nuts, cooked beans or pulses.

Milk, cheese especially low fat varieties or cottage cheese and yoghurt.
